Leah's 6th Birthday

It's been a week of birthday celebrations for my little Leah! On February 16th, she turned 6!! I really can't believe it has been six years since she has come into my life! She is the most thoughtful, caring, smart, sweet little girl I know. She amazes me every day and I am so proud to be mom. Leah's birthday festivities kicked off before her actual birthday! She had her friend party the Saturday before, but again that was a bust because she wasn't feeling well. By the following Monday, she was feeling much better and we told her we could do whatever she wanted for the day. She decided that we would go to Dave and Buster's for the afternoon. Both Leah and Mason love it there and it is much more tolerable than Chuck E. Cheese since there is stuff for everyone! We spent time playing lots of games and then had lunch, with a special birthday dessert and finished up the day playing more games. It really was a lot of fun!
Tuesday, was Leah's actual birthday and I wanted it to be special for her! Even though she had school, we had a fun morning. I let her sleep in and have breakfast at home. This was a big deal because normally we are running around like maniacs to get out of the door. This day I was also going to drive her to school and go into work a little late. We decorated the downstairs to surprise Leah in the morning. I also got her a mountain of donuts for a special breakfast! I also packed Leah a lunch for the day and included a special little surprise (a note and a cupcake necklace she has wanted). Leah was happy to be a car rider for the day too! Usually, she is a bus rider, but I told her I would drive her and her BFF Teagan to school. The girls had fun!

After school/work, I picked Leah, Mason and Teagan up from Melissa's. We were going to go out for Leah's birthday dinner! Her pick....Texas Roadhouse. We all had fun and came back to our house afterwards for cake and presents! Leah was one happy camper!!
The birthday festivities didn't end there. This past Saturday, we had Leah's family birthday party! I decided to have it at Aurelio's in Naperville. Our house is too small to have everyone here. It ended up working out really well! We had about 35 people. The food was good and Leah had a great time seeing her family! Thank you to everyone for coming out and celebrating my special girl's birthday!!
The sassy birthday girl!
