Mason's Super Hero Celebration - 3rd Birthday

My little boy Mason turned 3 on July 14th! I can't believe he is three already - I want to keep him my  baby forever. Mason has gotten so big over the past year and I am one proud mom. He is the sweetest, most lovable and cool little guy I know. He does have his whining moments, but overall, he is such a good boy. We celebrated his big day this past weekend on July 11th. This kid has a serious super hero addiction, so picking a theme this year was pretty easy! It was a lot of fun planning his party and was pretty happy with the end result....with the exception of the weather! The weather was up and down all week and the day before the party it was only showing 20% of rain. However, by the next day, it was showing 100% of rain right at party time! Argh. It was accurate and rained. However, it wasn't a horrible rain - it was on and off. We did set up two tents, which helped. I hope everyone had a great time! Mason - I love you to the moon and back and hope you have a fantastic year. I can't wait to see what is in store for you!

4th of July Fun - 2015

The 4th of July fell on a Saturday this year, so the holiday was observed on Friday, so we had a nice long weekend! Each year, we celebrate the 4th of July with friends by going to Lisle Eyes to Skies Festival on the 3rd (which was Thursday). We normally hit up the carnival, eat food, have some drinks and watch the fireworks. This year, the festival was EXTREMELY crowded! So much more so than in years past. Since it was wall to wall people, we decided to just grab a spot in the open picnic area and hang out. We were a short walk to food and drinks. This year, it was just a small group - us, the Csorba's and the Shannon's. It was still a great time, but we discussed that next year, we may need to switch the venue. The kids still had a blast though!

Friday was a lazy day and we lounged in the pool and swam. My kids were happy campers!

Saturday we were invited to a BBQ over at my sister-in-laws parents house. They live in Bloomindale. We had great food and the kids had a lot of fun!

Sunday we were going to go to the Dunes with Rob's sister Amy, but plans got changed and no one was going anymore. We still decided to take advantage of the beautiful day, so we headed over to Ty Warner Park to go to the Splash Pad. This place is perfect for kids Leah and Mason's ages. They had a blast running through the water.

He wanted no part of his momma taking pictures
I have this one trained with pictures

After the splash pad, we stopped at the cemetery to say hello to my mom. Plus, I had gotten her a new cross I wanted to put up. Generally, we wouldn't visit in our bathing suits, but the splash pad was very close by.

On the way out, we say this site! Someone must have been a big Dead Head!
